From October to December, the urgent artistic project The desire for being many connects the Berlin project spaces alpha nova & galerie futura, Neun Kelche, and Solaris. The project opposes current anti-feminist trends.

The project addresses the highly relevant reactionary backlash against feminist and LGBTQI+ rights. This issue is evident internationally, within the EU, and in German-speaking countries, whether through legislation, the popularity of anti-feminist influencers, or the rise of right-wing parties that normalize this ideology.

The desire for being many aims to take stock and create targeted counter-publics, strengthening alliances based on solidarity. Intersectional FLINTA* voices from the worlds of art and theory are brought together in the collaborative format to oppose this backlash through art and discourse.

The project The desire for being many not only aims to take stock and highlight the dramatic reactionary-antifeminist developments of recent years, but also to create counter-publics and strengthen alliances of solidarity in the spirit of author, philosopher and activist Ewa Majewska. To this end, artists and cultural workers living mainly in Berlin will participate in the exhibition and the (artistic-discursive) supporting programme with an artistic (activist) contribution based on their often transnational background of experience.
